Diabetes: this is not strictly a deterrent for a massage, but a massage has the same effect as exercise on your blood sugar levels so you need to have appropriate medication available.
Immediately after surgery, chemotherapy or radiation.
Osteoporosis: You should consult your doctor before a massage.

Proneness to blood clots. There is a risk of blood clots being dislodged during a massage.
If you have heart disease, check with your doctor beforehand.
Directly over bruises, inflamed skin, unhealed wounds, tumors, abdominal hernia, or recent fractures.
Acute Traumas: open wounds, muscle tears, sprained ligaments, contusions, burns.
A body temperature over 100°F, or feeling unwell.
Diseased blood vessels: varicose veins, phlebitis, thrombosis.
Infectious skin disease: rash, bacterial infection, lymphangitis, fungal infection, viral infections, herpes.
When you react adversely to massage treatment.
Cancer, melanoma or Aids.
Do not eat a heavy meal before the massage.
Use the restroom prior to your scheduled treatment time so we can begin promptly.
